I wanted to make a list of browser plug-ins that I use and find quite important to security and daily ops work.

First, for IE (I accidently upgraded to 7.0 and didn't feel like un-installing the behemoth)

  • Bayden Systems' TamperIE offers HTTPS form-tampering
    • sort of a mac-daddy tamper application to change your post data on the fly, must have.
  • Microsoft's IE Developer Toolbar
    • Change values on the fly also get header info and more right away
  • Microsoft's IE Powertoys for WebDevs
    • was cool but appears the highlight and show source dont work with IE7, however still works for DOM data so I keep it.

Now the giant list for FireFox (where all the 31337 users are)

  • AdBlockPlus
    • This is like going from dial up to DSL, the internet all the sudden becomes “sweet”
  • BlogJet
    • This is also in my IE, its my blogger application
  • DOM Inspector
    • handy for webdev and de-construction
  • DownloadThemAll
    • I dont like to click and this is a price-less tool for saving clicks.
  • GoogleBrowserSynch
    • I dont like how big google is and I dont like the idea of google watching what I browse, this was just an interesting tool since I am on lots of computers, I just dont have the guts to sign-in yet.
  • GoogleToolBar
    • this is a must, duh.
  • HttpHeaders
    • handy for webdev and de-construction
  • ModifyHeaders
    • handy for webdev and de-construction, and user-agent mods
  • NoScript
    • The only “security” leo laporte knows with out steve giving him a script. Handy for hacking things.
  • RefControl
    • spoof the referrer to the server.
  • PDF Download
    • sometime I like to download pdf’s sometimes I like to view them live, this lets me choose.
  • Tamper Data
    • same as TemperIE but for zilla
  • ULRParms
    • Different type of TamperData type plugin
  • User Agent Switcher
  • WebDev
    • This tools is mostly a must for anyone, you can quickly shut on and off and mod parts of sites.
Update June2008:
some good hack tools

I watched the movie borat it was funny crap, I doubt I would watch it again. But worth watching once. They totally made fun of things that are out of the social norm. more then once I thought while watching the movie. Oh man. Worth the price of a movie or a rental. Not much more.

I finally got around to checking out a new movie. Click, this movie was a rip off of Miltiplicity with a few crappy jokes in the middle. I really think they could have had more fun with it. Like the movie ClickStoppers. I give it a “rent if there is nothing else” review.

if your planning on watching this dent read this review i spoil the end.

The movie The Break up stunk, seriously this movie wasn't that funny didn't make me go ha, and the ending sucked. They didn't get back together. Sorry i don't go to a movie to watch real life. that is in front of me every day. Why on earth do i want to watch a movie about a couple that fights for 1 hour. They then go separate ways. horrible. If your going to watch a movie the point is that its not real life that things can change under circumstance because a writer is writing them. only in movies like 28 days later are cool with a real life ending, but thats because a movie ending is just too cheesy. but in a romantic comedy real life isn't what people want to pay for. DUH i give this movie zero stars i would never watch it again. If they put out a sequel i would say “thats horrible”

Hoodwinked was it “as good or better then shrek”? I dont know, it lacks the Dreamworks perfection of animation but I will for sure put the “Edwards” writing however I will put up against shrek. Now this movie is much more of a ‘kid’ movie where every dreamworks movie is a kid/adult movie. I liked it, got me to laugh. I say its worth the watch and the buy. Support your little guy animator, its not all about dreamworks.

Match Point, I have been interested with woody allen movies in the 2000+ with watching Melinda and Melinda, I read this was “his best work” I am in appraise of that. This movie actually got me wanting to fast forward to to find out what would happen next. I have never heard anything of this movie, watched it because it was new on DVD that might have helped my wow factor. Add this to the rental list, Ala Closer and Melinda but so much more of a story. I give this movie high rank, takes the other movies and adds serious chomp to the plot.

this makes me mad (so i am blogging it) i just learned that the long waits i noticed on my netflix queue are on purpose. this is unacceptable. so netflix not only did i email you but i will blog (ha)

turns out if you watch a lot of movies they will limit you to new releases all you get is old shit (why i havent watched anything new lately) on the top of my netflix queue i have about 7 new releases, they are all “very long wait” not cool netflix. some dude has a hack for it

http://www.smorty71.com/2006/01/tip-for-beating-netflix-throttle.html

but its a lame idea i have 115 movies in my queue. I like the idea however in a comment where you make a 2nd queue (for friends or family) then drop the new release 1 by 1 into the queue i will test that later and see if it works.

BAD NETFLIX i actually loved your service until this morning. dent make me cancel you and go back to downloading.

$imdb(The Sting) here is a movie that NetFlix recommended to me. It was $imdb(Robert Redford) back in the day. This movie was actually very good minus the 2.5 hour play time. They could cut a lot from it. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a remake of this movie some day. It had some plot twists I have never seen in this old of a movie. Seems like even the old farts of film had some talent. They even get all fancy with page wipes and its funny if you watch you can tell when they put static art in the place of a skyline it bounces a little haha. seriously check this one out.

$imdb(wedding crashers) was a funny ass movie. rated R for some token nudity it movie is funny as hell. i laughed through the whole thing. The story and crappy romantic comedy i didn't like. I did really like the on screen dynamics with owen wilson and $imdb(Rachel McAdams) she was the “good girl” in the movie which is different from her $imdb(mean girls) role. oh yea throw in the word Divx and Torrent for easy google hits.

Went out to see $imdb(Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) this weekend. It was everything i hoped it would be. Lots of people say its Depp at his creepy ness, yes but i didn't think it was over the top and resembling Michael Jackson like reviewers say. Actually I thought it was perfect remember this is a remake of the book not the original movie. This movie was worth the 9 dollars hands down. My only complaint is that the oompa songs could have been more of a sing along. Since well, why have them if they arnt?

The $imdb(Fantastic Four), yes i got to actually go watch a movie. Even if the movie price is a rip off at $9 this movie was ok. I put it on the same level as $imdb(Hulk) only it was funny. the Johnny Storm character was awesome i don't know if i was tired or it was actually good script but it made me laugh. as for the movie it was ho hum on the wow factor. Jessica Alba looking hot. Other then that it was a Marvel Movie for the collection. This was no X-Men film but it was no Hulk either. about a spider man 2 rating. with out the cool special effects.

are you cool honey bunny? I watched this movie mostly to see Uma Thurman and John Travolta play on screen again. It was worth it for the other look of Uma man she is hot this movie has her mixing up the hair and makeup a few times they must have had fun with that. But to keep jon and eli from giving me shit for a wardrobe i better get to my review of $imdb(be cool) i thought more of the DVD then the movie seriously the dvd menu and special features are so well done. someone with a lot of money made this movie. as for the movie it just was. it was fun. a LOT of great behind the scenes jokes like fred durst at the mtv awards awesome! but see if you can spot them all there is so much funny in the background of the movie that its too bad they couldn't really make the movie something i was more attached to. and no jon and eli the color wasn't something worth mentioning the cinematography was only cool once in the opening of the shot of john other then that it was static cam opera shooting. yes even the parts where they put the cast around a central focal point so that you can still see everyone in the shot. man this review is boring. sort of like this movie was i guess. but its worth the rental, i just wish they did more with it sort of left me dry.

ok time for another vampire movie. don't know what the thrill is, they start this movie off by saying that all the other vampire movies are bullshit. well this new one has at least a new style of story but its just the same essentially. i did like the title sequence unlike i have seen for a while. what i didn't like was the first 20 mins of bad stunts and crappy CGI looking $imdb(fast and furious) car stunts. but then every now and then $imdb(blade trinity) would surprise you with some awesome stunts, there is some sword play in the last scene that is great! how is it that most bad guys and all bad creatures are well versed in the art of kung-fu or something else? this movie seemed short even though it was 2 hours so i guess thats good, no slow story line. i am torn however the bad stunts and sort of lame story here and there and the combined marvel production with some great stunts. This movie gave me a feel of $imdb(gone in 60 seconds) at some times as well.

if i had to choose a vampire movie $imdb(Underworld) gets my choice but this would get #2

so i watched the original movie from back in 1980 something. This remake was actually worth the time and effort. Rogue Pictures which is a spin off of Focus Films, brought us such great movies as $imdb(Shaun of the Dead) and is making the upcoming $imdb(Unleashed) with Jet Li so they are a promising looking production company (to to mention the mother ship focus films great work) anyway production company’s aside.

$imdb(Assault On Precinct 13) was a great movie remake. i mean the story is obviously reused and the original movie was good but was slow and drug out like most older movies. This new version they tightened up the story line and had new believable scenarios for the 2005 culture. i dont want to talk a lot about the movie it might ruin some of the suspense that keeps you attached to the screen. for a new era action movie this one gets my thumbs up. it wasn't the same old slash and bang we see from Vin, and Keanu every Friday.

I must comment on what i think is the best show ever to be on TV i just got Scrubs Season one on DVD today (always buy form buy.com and you get it a day early. they are awesome amazon sucks) anyway i want to comment on how one TV show not only is funny but has some of the best social commentary that i have ever seen. just watching the pilot and i laughed as much as i do on a season 4 show. gotta love a show that can keep it gold from day one. i did think that the pilot was the the best i have ever seen not only keeping 100% true to the whole series but outlining what they have done all along. if you haven't ever watched the show catch it next season they seem to be wrapping it up i can see the plot line go to a end. I just hope if they end this story they start a new one with the same cast seriously people, if my life were a tv show i would let it be this one.

not to mention zach braff the only (guy) actor i would like to actually meet in real life, your asking which girl actor i am gonna pull a crazy ass one out of the hat and say Larisa Oleynik no offence to paris hilton she did get us to NY for free. She was my crush back in the day of good nickelodeon when it actually owned every channel in the world, you want to debate that? come on Pete and Pete, rin and stimpy, double dare, that agro crag, dude if i could bring back one thing from the 80’s and early 90’s it would be nickelodeon at its prime. in this post i have summed up the only things i actually loved in television history and present day. oh yea and loony toons, pee-wee, and A-Team and Knight rider, felix the cat –  just to name a few more. man i miss the days before reality TV and “desperate housewives” …sigh

finally getting around to catching up on netflix. $imdb(The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) wanted to get to the theater to see this one but didnt. here i am today with the dvd. first off is the 2+ hours worth it you ask? if you didnt like $imdb(The Royal Tenenbaums) then my review is you wont like this dont even bother. If you like RT then you will enjoy this movie. dont know how else to review this one. It looks wonderful, the sets and the color on the screen is marvelous. The plot line …if there is one is sort of fun and different since its just some people a simi story and such weird events and strings of story that they end up with some cool and fun looking scenes to shoot. i liked it but it was long.

ok so at first preview i thought this movie would be good. and it didnt let down $imdb(Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events) was all that i hoped it would be. riveling if not kicking the pants of any old Tim Burton Film you have who else but Jim Carrey as the bad guy. I give this thumbs up all around i was glued to the screen watching it. This gets added to the collection for sure.

I was wondering how well it did since i didnt hear much about it in the theater, not sure why most people relate this movie to harry potter rip off. well since HP was published in 1998 and LS in 1999 its a long shot that anyone riped off anyone.

but that potter lady is no where as cool as Snickets seriously go check out his home page. this movie will get me to find the books on tape and download them and listen… sorry snickets i will buy your movie but not the books… alas what is the world coming to?

best movie i seen since big fish.

ok so i netflixed $imdb(Sideways) from eli’s review now this is not a reflection on that review at all. basically i hated this movie. 2 hours long. there is so much lame character development that is never used. we follow this dumb writer with a book that is 700 pages long and its about nothing with no ending, the publisher don't want to publish the movie. well its a mirror of the movie. this must have been some guys real life story, because thats about all it is … real life. i’m sorry i dont watch a movie to see real life. i thought the whole plot line (spoiler) about the guy getting married and having his last fling with random chicks was not only pointless but made the whole move even more of a loop of boring life. they did a good job with continuity and keeping the story facts in line. but still this move was 2 hours of messy scripts.

to sum this movie up in a clever one liner.   “this movie is about as bland as a glass of dry merlot leaving you just as thirsty for something else”

boo

$imdb(closer) this movie gets mention – it came out last year. I just netflixed it. This movie gets a high rating from me. Why? because it was different. This isn't a romantic comedy like your mother wants to watch in fact with its R rating holding “sequences of graphic sexual dialogue, nudity/sexuality and language” i wouldn't recommend it as such. However this movie is vivid with some real life that i have never seen or experienced, in fact i doubt anyone acts the way they do in the movie. But its a interesting story line and in the end you wonder if it was all trying to be whitty smart about some life lesson. all and all this movie gets my thumbs up. Add this to the list of good movies that Julia Roberts has done later in her career.

$imdb(Pacifier) at least a pacifier actually ‘sucks’ more then this movie. Lets see put $imdb(Vin Diesel) with walt Disney pictures and lets see what we get. Oh i know, its a adult version of $imdb(spy kids). My rating, O. for Ouch vin what did you do to your career. there was once or twice that i laughed out loud so if your tied to a chair (or work nights) you wont puke the whole movie.

$imdb(The Ring Two) this was the best sequel i have ever seen, This movie was able to 100% continue the story of the first movie and was on top with continuity and story line. I really like that the main characters were kept as well as the key sets and locations. I hear a lot of bad press about this movie – after watching it i think they must have planned to make this during the first one. Its a must own if you bought the first one. i mean this want a epic movie but its a great continuation of the story from the first movie.

ok first this isnt a movie. Its a rich boy, who i didnt know was actually rich, since i haven't see him for a long time. But $imdb(Pauly Shore is Dead) what a crazy film i have never seen a autobiography like this. Also i have never seen so many famous people cameo in one movie before – he must know a lot of people. This is not a movie its like a special you see at 4am. IF you think of it like that then its a cool movie to see a lot of famous people goofing off. seriously the only thing about this movie that is great is that so many famous people are in it

i got this from netflix after watching $imdb(Mulholland Dr) it reccomended it. First i have to say KUDOS TO NETFLIX. $imdb(Donnie Darko) was simply awesome. I have nothign to say bad about it. Nothing – it was well done, actors were great, color and camera play was great. If you like Mullholand or $imdb(Butterfly Effect) you must watch this fillm. This is 5 stars, great great movie.

and who has the coolest movie web page ever? http://www.donniedarko.com and what if you cant figure any of the movie or web page out? (after watching the movie) i had a little different interpratation of the movie then the FAQ but thats why i love it. My only question i havent figured out yet is the backstory on and what the point of the English Teacher and Science Teacher is.

ok so i got this movie because of the obvious’s The director from $imdb(Three Kings) and $imdb(Naomi Watts) and $imdb(Jason Schwartzman) i was sucked in. I had to watch it. Take the fun of three kings and put it into criterion films like movie. you get something like $imdb(I Heart Huckabees). I loved some of the set like the chalk board that was ingenious. I didnt like the goofy CGI they used. Just wasn't what i like to see in a movie today. The color was great and any scene with Naomi is sweet. There are jokes in the movie that are awesome, i also like that Jason and Mark have a few scenes where they just start eating licorice of different colors its great.

now for the cynical side of kelly that i like to whip out on all movies anymore. what i didnt like, first this movie didnt go anywhere it started just about as weird as it ended. i am going to ruin the story line but if you read the back of the box you wont see anything that isnt a surprise. This movie was basically (i felt) about why we are here, why we exist, why do i interact with you and why why why why.

I dont have that question, so for me this movie was mostly blah blah blah. It was funny but i cant say that it made me jump out of my seat. Essentially Jason is lost and needs help he turns to some people who have a answer in the mix of it all he figures things out for himself. Along the way they have a side character get into the love interest, but its so obscure that it makes no real movie connections. Then Jason has some rather oddly placed sex in the mud, i think it was to show that the answer was that love pulls people together. But what the hell in the mud? what was that. Then you have this antagonist who just mostly runs around making a mess of the plot lines.

This movie gets a 2.5 star, i didn't like it that much but there was a lot of fun mixed in with the weird.

ok, lets start off this one with the good points. Good – $imdb(catwoman) has a very good glossy comic book feel to it. The color and camera look cool. and Halle Berry really looked good in the film and took on a very different look from Bond and X2.

thats where the good stuff ends. This movie sucked, the CGI was horrible the story was pathetic and there were more obvious continuity mistakes in this movie then i have seen in a while. then there are things like. All of the sudden halle is out side on a ledge chasing a cat, then some cop comes in busts down the door to save her then ends up at the office she works at to ask her on a date. This is like spiderman redone by an amateur. I cant say enough bad about this film the fight scenes look way too CGI and the whole feel of the movie is off. this movie gets a one star from me. I didnt shut it off but i would never watch it again.

$imdb(surviving christmas) more like survive this movie, this was a $imdb(dicky Roberts) rip off with no twist. This movie was more a xerox copy of it then any copy i have ever seen. I dont know if it was the total of $1000 they spent on the scenery or the lack of a decent plot, several times i found my self actually fast forwarding past a part in the movie i totally guess was coming. ouch this review is as harsh as this movie. Gandolfini is cool but i dont like him out of sopranos roles. This movie sucked. It got a minus 1 star from me.

ok before you give me shit that i saw a chick flick, i did go with a girl, so even though i was one of two guys in the 20 something people in the movie hut, it wasn't like i was some dude watching a chick flick.  But fact remains that $imdb(The Wedding Date) bleeds chick flick, it was a good movie for the scenery, wardrobe and color. But it was like a puzzle with a few missing pieces. There were a few flaws that were noticeable in the story line and the cinamatography. However for a fun romantic comedy it was good, i was bored and i didn't get pissed i spent $9. I think the only other guy in the theator was getting some heavy action if you know what i mean either that or someone was crying. we had no idea.

i think i was one of three single people at this movie. i guess its a good excuse to say “yea i saw it with the girl” down at the bar the night after. then no one gives you shit i guess. However, if you saw a preview for $imdb(hitch) and you thought it looked fun, then it will rise to your expectations. This movie was good, for all the movies that have come out this year this is the first good one i actually liked. It sort of reminds me of $imdb(how to loose a guy in 10 days) looking back. I dont want to ruin the plot for anyone seeing that it came out (yesterday) but go find the movie trailer for it and check it out if you like it then i recommend the movie. I will sum this up with one quick story. While watching the movie, Kevin James who plays a great character is in a ‘romantic comedy moment’ with his love interest, he walks away from her – at this moment some dude in the crowd yelled “no no go back” if a romantic comedy can get audience participation in the theatre, i say its got something.
